How to Make Egg Rolls


Egg rolls - is a favorite meal of many. It is a great snack that you can take to school or work. If you are planning on having a picnic with your friends, you can make egg rolls, too. Egg rolls is one of the dishes that can be easily made at home. In this article we tell you how to cook them at home, you can print out these instructions if you like. We offer you two egg rolls recipes: egg rolls with meat and egg rolls without meat in case you are a vegetarian. To learn more read simple instructions below.



Vegetarian egg rolls


  • 1 can chili (no beans) - it's about 15 oz. - 450 ml. - two glasses;
  • 4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese;
  • 2 tbsp. chopped onion;
  • 2 tbsp. jalapeno pepper;
  • vegetable / olive oil;
  • 8 or more wraps (as many as you need);
  • sour cream (optional).


  • Combine chili cheese, onion and pepper in a bowl.
  • Place ¼ cup chili mixture on a roll wrapper.
  • Add stuffing (see step # 1) and make rolls.
  • Moisten the edges of roll wrapper to seal.
  • Deep fry rolls for a couple of minutes.
  • Roll them over and deep fry them for a couple of more minutes.
  • Place rolls on paper towels to get rid of the excess of oil.

Egg rolls with meat


  • ¼ cup soy sauce;
  • 2 tbsp. vinegar;
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar;
  • vegetable oil for deep frying;
  • 2 lb. cabbage
  • 4 carrots;
  • 4 garlic cloves;
  • 1 tbsp. ginger root;
  • salt and pepper;
  • 1 lb ground pork;
  • green onion;
  • roll wrappers;
  • 1 raw egg;
  • sauce for serving.


  • Grate carrots, mince garlic, chop cabbage; grate ginger, whisk an egg;
  • Combine soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar in a small pot / bowl;
  • Fry cabbage, carrots, garlic, and ginger in a little oil. Add salt and pepper.
  • In 3 min. add ground pork and soy sauce.
  • In 5 – 7 min. add green onion. Remove the pan from the heat.
  • Place stuffing on a dish and let it cool down.
  • Bring the rest of oil to a boil and make rolls. Moisten the edges of roll wrapper to seal.
  • Deep fry rolls 4 at a time, 2 min. from each side.
  • Place rolls on paper towels to get rid of the excess of oil.

Note: If you choose to bake rolls, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (about 200 degrees C). Oil the baking sheet and brush rolls with a plenty of oil. Bake for 10 minutes. If you bake frozen rolls, make it 15 min.



Don't forget to use a cooker hood when you cook and don't let children anywhere near the stove.

Cooking tips

Make sure you don’t overcook egg rolls, and never add too much oily products, it is a really bad combination for your stomach. Don't add too many spicy ingredients.



Making egg rolls can take a while but it is worth it - they are delicious. You can serve them with sauce and different kinds of drinks: beer, coke, herbal tea or coffee. If you serve egg rolls to children, you should probably serve it with tea. Feel free to use different filling and mix your favorite types of ingredients to create your perfect egg roll recipe.
